Why do we need to test when making circuit boards?


There is an optional process in PCB manufacturing (testing and non-testing). Today, it helps the customers who need to do PCB board to analyze whether it is necessary to choose the testing and non-testing problems and how to choose the testing methods in PCB production. PCB production can be divided into three categories. Today we are going to do this. These three kinds of PCB production types are analyzed.

PCB prototype manufacturing:


PCB prototype manufacturing refers to the prototype with an area of less than 0.6 square meters, so we can choose flying needle test for PCB prototype. The cost of flying needle test is relatively small. If it is only testing function, we suggest that proofing should be controlled within 0.2 square meters, so that we can test it free of charge, of course, there is another one. One kind of situation is that the design of circuit board drawings confirms that there is no problem, just want to test the quality of the circuit board manufacturer and the performance of the circuit board by proofing first, then this situation can choose to open the test stand for testing, so that the cost of a flying needle test can be saved.

Small batch production of circuit boards:


The small batch production of PCB refers to the circuit board with an area of 0.6 square meters to 5 square meters. In this small batch production of PCB, Jinghongyi PCB strongly recommends that we open the test stand for testing. Firstly, because the time for testing more than 3 square meters of board with flying needle is relatively long; secondly, the cost of flying needle testing is relatively high; thirdly, if the test is later, the cost of flying needle testing will be higher. In case of mass production, we can save a lot of testing costs.

Mass production of circuit boards:


Mass production of circuit boards refers to the circuit boards with an area of more than 5 square meters. The only option for mass production of circuit boards is to open a test stand to test circuit boards.

Next, let's talk about why we chose the test.

I think you all know that there are more than 10 processes in the production of printed circuit boards, each process must be controlled to be fully qualified to ensure the quality of printed circuit boards, but people always make mistakes, can not ensure 100% of the qualifications.

If you don't test, you will probably cause some cost increases, such as SMT assembly costs, component costs and so on. Therefore, in order to qualify our PCB, we should use unnecessary waste on reasonable test costs.
